After measuring a good cable, you may wish to annotate it with
descriptive notes and save it in the database using a name or
part number of your choice. Later, you may reload the cable, or
search the database for a match to the cable's wiring. Start
1 +
| - Measure a cable using
Test Cable and click on the "Test Notes" tab. Then,
type in descriptive notes, part numbers, names, dates, color codes,
or any other information you deem important. You may also copy
notes from another cable to the clipboard and paste them here
using standard Windows methods, and then edit the notes as necessary.
Click the "Test Label" tab and enter any notes that
you wish to appear on a printed label. Note that the first line
of these notes appears in the title block of printed reports.

2 + | - Click the "Save" button when you are ready to save the cable and notes in the database.

3 +
| - When
the "Save Test Data" appears, use up to 19 characters
to name the cable. You may use spaces, dashes, and other special
symbols in the name. To have CableEye automatically create a name
for you based on the connectors and wiring, click "Autoname".
As you type the name, the file list below shows all other cable
files that begin with the characters you have typed so far. Continue
typing until no other files appear, indicating that you have selected
a unique name. Click "OK" to save the cable.
