CAMI Research has added a new model to its CableEye-series of PC-Based cable test equipment. Using the same advanced software as our M2 tester, the new CableEye Model M3 offers resistance measurement capability for those who need to test contact and isolation resistance, and measure embedded resistors. Model M3, Item 821, provides these new features:

• Set high and low resistance thresholds between 0.5 ohms and 10 Megohms to ensure good terminations and proper electrical isolation between conductors.
  
• Measure individual resistors embedded in the cable with 1% accuracy to confirm that the proper resistance value is present and that the resistor is connected between the appropriate pins.
  
• Measure diodes and LEDs, and generate an error warning if a diode is inserted backwards or between the wrong pins.

Model M3 uses exactly the same rugged aluminum case as our continuity-only Model M2 and accepts all of the connector boards in our catalog. Expand M3 up to 1024 test points by adding 128-test-point expansion modules until the desired number of test points is reached; this provides a powerful yet inexpensive way to test wiring harnesses and large cables for wiring correctness and connection quality.
