CableEye® High-Speed Cable Testers

The Model M3 CableEye® Cable Tester and Wire Harness Tester with a USB interface, provides greatly increased scanning speed over serial port models, and fast, problem-free setup. Loop test at more than nine 128-point scans per second for increased sensitivity to intermittent connections, three times as fast as the serial port model. The USB interface ensures compatibility with all USB-equipped PCs, and offers optional automatic software start-up as soon as the tester's power is turned on.

Connect the M3 tester to a wireless USB adapter for greater freedom to place it in the most convenient location within the work area. Our custom USB software driver is Microsoft-signed and tested, and the USB hardware interface has been compliance-tested by an independent lab for USB logo qualification.

The new CableEye M3 also offers improved specifications, with resistance sensitivity from 0.3 ohms to 10 Megohms, expandability to 2072 test points, and a benchmark acquisition time of two seconds for a 512 point system.

Click on the link below to witness the speed difference between the USB and Serial Port Versions of the Model M3 tester. In this demonstration, we connect one tester of each type to the same computer for a side-by-side comparison.

We run this demonstration on a Dell Dimension 4600 Pentium 4 computer with Windows XP. You would obtain largely the same results on older hardware and earlier operating systems. We limit the active display area to 880 x 608 pixels for efficient image transmission through the internet. In practice, CableEye's control screen can be enlarged to the full size of your monitor, if desired.
