CAMI Research Inc. (Acton, MA) offers a comprehensive tolerancing option to its standard CableEye cable and harness testing system Graphical User Interface (GUI). The intuitive, graphic-rich GUI provides a clear simple operator interface and, for resistance measurements, may be user-set asymmetrically in either absolute or percentage parameters.
A leader in development of PC-based Cable & Wire Harness Test Systems for over 20 years, CAMI offers the CableEye suite of Low and High Voltage products complete with accessories. Users interact with any of its models through an identical GUI, as the systems are united by a common platform.
Needed, for example, for testing medical devices, single or dual (asymmetric) tolerances may be set in absolute or percentage terms for low voltage resistance measurement.
Compared to more constrained test parameters (e.g. ±10%), asymmetric tolerancing (e.g. +0%/-10%) allows more product to accurately pass testing leading to greater profitability.
Test results show instantaneously as a netlist and schematic in the dynamic GUI and may be easily hidden from an operator that needs only pass/fail indicators.
CableEye software allows customers to meet the most exacting reporting requirements of government-contracted and ISO 9000-style certified companies … in seven languages.
This comprehensive tolerancing feature comes with the standard software shipped with any CableEye test system. Testers capable of measuring resistance start at $2195 (basic continuity testers start at $1,295). All new systems include CableEye's standard, renewable one year Warranty that is combined with free tech support and free software upgrades.

CAMI Research produces expandable and upgradable diagnostic Cable & Harness Test Systems for assembly, prototyping, production, and QC of standard or custom cables. CableEye® Testers display, and document electrical properties such as continuity, resistance, capacitance, dielectric breakdown, insulation resistance, miswires, and intermittent defects.
CableEye is a highly versatile, expandable and upgradable diagnostic and Pass/Fail check Cable and Harness Test System that’s PC-based. It’s used for assembly, prototyping, production, and QC of standard or custom wire cables and harnesses The entire suite of products is powered by the same easy-to-use operating software and, with the help of its signature easy-to-interpret color-coded graphics, instantly identifies not only when there is a fault, but what type of fault and where. There are several models:
Low Voltage: M2U-basic, M2U
For diagnostic and Pass/Fail Testing - Find, display, log, & document: continuity (opens, shorts, miswires), and intermittent connections
Low Voltage: M3U, M3UH
For all of the above plus resistance (contact, isolation, embedded), and diodes (orientation, forward voltage, reverse breakdown).
Low Voltage: M4
For all of the above plus precision resistance (4-wire), and capacitance (twist wire relationship, length of cable, length to break, capacitors).
Low Voltage and High Voltage: HVX, HVX-21
For all as described for M3U, M3UH plus 4-Wire Kelvin Measurement and HiPot (dielectric withstand voltage and insulation resistance). Capacitance measurement (twist wire relationship, length of cable, length to break, capacitors) is an option.
Experience CableEye first-hand. See how your own cables and connectors can be auto-detected and accurately represented on our graphic-rich, touch screen compliant GUI. Find cable problems fast, and understand why customers tell us "... we can not live without CableEye" (Kabelservice), declaring it the "... best, easiest to use, system" (Digital Video Products).
